FOCUS900 is a project that explores the permanent collection of the Museo del Novecento through a series of monographic studies dedicated to some of the leading figures in Italian art of the second half of the 20th century.
In the Gesti e Processi gallery, the interventions are the result of close collaboration with archives and artists’ studios that work alongside the Museum to build a dialogue between the selected works and the permanent collection, with the aim of creating historical, formal and conceptual connections.
The programme aims to create a space for critical discussion and historical analysis, capable of renewing the enjoyment of the museum’s heritage and, at the same time, analysing the creative process, the contexts of production and the relationships of individual artists.
Starting on 4 October 2025, on the occasion of Contemporary Art Day, promoted by AMACI – Association of Italian Contemporary Art Museums, a focus will be dedicated to Paolo Scirpa, one of the protagonists of the Milanese and Italian art scene.
